In this Deborah Pulliam slide presentation, writer Carl Little will explore the Japanese-American
artist’s creative vison. Where did Hamabe’s inspiration come from? What compelled him to take
up so many different media? How does his work fit into Maine and American art history? Little
is the author of The Art of Francis Hamabe and guest curated “Francis Hamabe’s Maine: A Life
in Art” at the Castine Historical Society.
