Dr. Brittany Goetting was born and raised in Southern California but moved to Maine ten years ago. She received a Ph.D. in American and Canadian history this past spring from the University of Maine. She first became familiar with the town of Castine and the Castine Historical Society when she became the Castine Historical Society graduate student intern during the summer of 2017. She continued to work for the Castine Historical Society after her internship by aiding in collections, giving guided tours, and working with the Castine History Partners to develop the Castine History Highlights App.
Brittany now works as an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky. However, she retains a strong love of Castine and an interest in the Castine Historical Society’s success and growth.
