This is a complex and fascinating question to consider as we approach the 250th commemoration of its creation.
This discussion-based program invites participants to build a deeper understanding of this foundational document through dialogue, engaging with both its aspiration and challenging content. We will be guided by Dr. Liam Riordan, Adelaide and Alan Bird Professor of History, Department Chair at the University of Maine, along with staff from the Wilson Museum and Castine Historical Society. Please note that this will be a participatory program, and all attendees will be expected to actively engage. Some details are still under development, and we will reach out to registered participants with any updates.
This program will be held at Wilson Museum Education Center 112 Perkins Street Castine, ME 04421.
The program is free, but registration is required as space is limited. Please visit the Wilson Museum’s website to register.
