To preserve the Castine Historical Society’s 1859 Abbott School, the Historical Society is raising funds to paint the building’s cupola, window trim, and façade later this summer. The Abbott School is the Historical Society’s exhibition building and is a centerpiece on the Town Common.
In 2006/2007, the Historical Society restored the rotting cupula, replaced the School roof and repainted the building. Now over 10 years later, the peeling and worn paint on the building needs to be painted to continue the Abbott School’s long-term preservation. We hope you will consider making a donation to the Abbott School Painting Project. We thank you for your consideration and support.
