  • Where can I park?
      • There will be signs as you drive into Castine that will direct you to parking for ticket purchases, will call, and the shuttle. We strongly recommend that you park here, and either walk or take a shuttle to the homes and gardens.  A number of the homes and gardens are within walking distance of main parking.
      • Castine is a very busy place in the summer, and walking or taking the shuttles will leave the roads clear for everyday home and business traffic.
      • Shuttles will be available to transport you to different locations, and will be easy to identify and flag down, if necessary.
      • Masks are required inside all homes and when riding the Shuttle Service.
      • For your comfort and safety, please wear flat walking shoes, and watch for steps and uneven surfaces as you visit the homes and gardens.
  • Do I have to view the houses in order?
      • There is no set order for the tour.  You can start at any house, and go in any order.
      • Maps and property descriptions will be available at each location.
      • Please check in with the attendant before entering the house or garden.
  • Will the Tour be cancelled in the event of bad weather?
      • No. The tour will be held rain or shine. No refunds will be available for Tour tickets or luncheon reservations.
  • Are there restrooms available?
      • There are no available restrooms in the homes, but there are public restrooms on the Castine town dock.
      • There is also a public restroom at the Castine Historical Society Abbott School, located at 17 School Street on the town common.
