2021 Annual Meeting

As Covid-19 and its variants are still a concern, out of an abundance of caution the 2021 annual meeting will be held via Zoom.  You can register for the meeting in advance HERE. After a brief business meeting, Maine Maritime Academy instructor Captain Richard F. Miller will present a talk entitled “The Square Rigged Ship: Form & Function – Then and Now.”

Because we received such positive feedback about last year’s remote election, we are once again offering the the online voting option!  Postcards are currently in the mail with voting instructions.  If we have an email address for you, you will also receive an electronic message with instructions when the election begins.  If you do not receive either, please email us at admin@castinehistoricalsociety.org so we can help.

Voting will open Monday, August 2, at 9 AM EST, and close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 19.  You can access the ballot directly HERE.  Please note that you will need the access code and password that were sent to you.

The 2021 election includes two items. Please see each section below for information about each.

  • (1) approve the 2021 Board of Directors slate
  • (2) ratify the 2019 Annual Meeting Minutes.

2019 Annual Meeting Minutes Ratification

The minutes from each annual meeting are traditionally ratified by the membership at the annual meeting of the following year. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of all events in 2020, it was decided not to attempt this task in 2020. With the ability to meet virtually in 2021, we are getting that back on schedule and asking for the membership to ratify the minutes from 2019 as the official record of that meeting. You can view the 2019 minutes HERE.
