The Castine Arts Association will hold its fifth Castine Plein Air Festival on July 20-22, 2017. Forty wonderful plein air artists have been juried into this year’s event.  The week begins on Wednesday, July 19th with a social at the Castine Inn, where artists, their hosts, and sponsors of the festival are invited to meet the artists. Then at 6am on Thursday the 20th, artists will register at the town common and begin painting. The public will enjoy watching artists creating their work around town. The festival ends with a public reception, award ceremony and art sale at the MMA’s Alfond Student Center on Pleasant St. Castine. Art lovers and patrons shouldn’t miss this evening event from 4 to 6pm on Saturday, July 22.
